terribleturner
Was looking under the bonnet today and noticed loads of oil under my boost controller box. Should/could the box be leaking oil?? It's definatly not coming from anywhere else under the bonnet as the sides of the box are fine, it's just building up underneath it. Not great pictures but hopefully can show what's going on. Could this also be why my boost isn't kicking in a quickly as it used to be?? It's the only aftermarket item under the bonnet that i havn't installed myself and have been thinking about changing it. scooby_doo_do
?? I'd try cleaning up the area and then taking the car for a spin and re-check.. See if it leaks from the same place?
terribleturner
Yeah should do. There's a fair bit there to.
Andy-No-Knee
Oh dear!!! As far as I know there is no oil in it per say. It MAY be oil from the turbos pushing into the feed pipes. I would take off the pipes and using a pipe cleaner push it into them to check. If it comes out clean then it is from the box, if it comes back oily............. Chris Wilson
It's venting boosted air, which will have some oil mist in it. Route the vent nipple away from anywhere you do not want oil mist, assuming it has a nipple to attach a pipe to.
terribleturner
I've just been outside and given it a cleaning. None of the pipes, with a quick clean, seem to have oil in them or around them coming from the box. I looked around the strut brace on the tower and there's no oil anywhere on it so it's not being kicked up from the bov. Although as said before it doesn't seem to be coming from the pipes going in/out, the pool of oil on the bottom seems to be under the OUT nipple. Chris do you think this may be why my boost seems slightly late when coming online??

No idea about that, I doubt it though, I wouldn't be surprised to see oil coming from the boost controller vent nipple though, or necessarily alarmed by it. Remove the controller plumbing back to stock and see if boost delivery appears normal then?
hadyn
How much oil is your BOV spraying out?
Fire148
Hi James, How did you get on with this problem as I have the same problem, the only difference being that I have one of those mechanical 'screw' type controllers.
terribleturner
Well i cleaned the area and touch wood nothing. The Bov does seem to have quite a bit spraying out now. Need to take it off and have a good look but don't think it was coming from there was nothing actually between the 2 areas covered. TBH i'm not familar with the screw in types im afraid I'll go look at the thread and see if it makes any sense.
