Terminator
Answer - unless they are giving it away with a tank of fuel and the night of your life with the girl of your dreams, look for another one. You will spend loads getting it put right. It sounds like an abused and neglected car.

D8MOA
well yes it must be a essex understanding! its a 1993 uk manual turbo 1 owner from new 100k with full service history and could be mine for around four grand! the reason i want this one is due to the fact that THIS is the supra that made me like supras! and its my mums ex! yes ime not denying the fact it needs work but working for lexus and having a unit to work in makes costs lower but my idear is its a good base car
D8MOA
and to paul yer thay cant remove the crank pully bolt with normal air guns
Jake
Seeing as it's a manual you should be able to remove the crank pulley bolt by locking the transmission up and using a long breaker bar and a decent socket. Either that or resort to the starter motor method like us Auto guys often have to.

Either that or resort to the starter motor method like us Auto guys often have to. i think thats been tryed (not buy me) but the reason to remove the engine would be to remove the nut,do the main oil seal and rocker cover gasket rather then me struggling to do it in the car! but i was wondering if it was worth removing the head to do valve guid oil seals etc? Jake
I suppose it depends on whether the stem seals need doing or not, if they do then, sure, why not while the engine is out? You don't want to be doing it just for fun, seeing as it's a few hundred quid in parts (head gasket £100?, stem seals are £85, etc etc)
Paul Whiffin
and to paul yer thay cant remove the crank pully bolt with normal air guns We use the Toyota special tool to lock the engine up solid, then if its a tough one a BIG bar to undue the bolt, never failed us yet. If its a tight one an air gun wont do it unless its a truck gun.
Digsy
1) crank pullley: Any garage worth its salt should be able to get this dundone. 2) rear main oil seal is leaking, clutch is buggerd: Take the flywheel off when you get a new clutch and replace the rear seal then. AFAIK no need for the engine to come out. 3) rocker seal is leaking: It's NOT a "rocker cover" Whip it off, change the seal and whip it back on again. 4) ! should i remove the engine and box, remove the head to clean decoke and replase valve guid oil seals and replase with a steel headgasket?? Only if the guides and seals have gone.
Terminator
OK does not sound too bad. What ever you do dont let anyone tell you you can heat up the pulley. If you know the previous owner and how they treated the car it is much less of a risk. All the best with the purchase.
