Speedo Calibration

Geezabloke

Recommended Posts

Have recently fitted new dials as some may have read / seen.

A tip for recalibrating the speedo.......Use a Road Angel.

Buy Borrow Beg or Steal..........these are great devices in their own right, but they also give an accurate MPH readout from GPS.

Made it a doddle.....Its now more accurate than before.....:flame Dev

Just a tip...................

I think Geeza's talking about replacing the needle ? ?

but, for 'linear' calibration (ie. the 'scale') you need to calibrate it

'electronically'...

on a Jap' with Pete Betts 'BOX' you can adjust the output 'scale'

but on a UK - that doesn't need/have a 'box' - ............? ? ? ?

errrrrrr, that is, if it's +5mph all the way up, you move the needle.

if it's +5 at 50, and +10 at 100, and +15 at 150, you can't calibrate

it with the needle.......need to alter the 'signal'......

or, change wheel/tyre size........ ! ! ! !:p

You can still use my box :) to do this.

It has both 5:8 and 1:1 output signals so you can use the 1:1 and also the +/- 10% scaling (in 1.5% steps) to adjust.

But only if this is NOT the natural non-linearity with the dial.

Regards

Pete

Sorry

I actually meant recalibrating following a dial change...

Leave the plastic cover off and remove refit needle to match the Road Angel speed...Takes a while but now spot on.....

Once done refit plastic cover......

If you need more info PM me and i'll go through it step by step?

Cheers

Dave
