francis
Hi guys, Well I replaced my headlights today only to find the battery had been leaking on to my HID ballast, and since moving it the lights on that side refuse to light up! Bugger. Anyway I've managed to get my hands on another HID kit but want to have a proper job done on the placement of the ballasts and igniters. Anyone care to share where they secured theirs? With the stock airbox etc there doesn't seem to be much space around! Cheers, Francis
Chris Wilson
It is indeed a problem as they have short leads.
merckx
On the passenger side below the headlights there's sufficient room But on the drivers side hardly any, fitted mine just to the right near the wing. Waterproofing is always a problem, on oem hid headlights they're sometimes fitted inside the headlight housing. Quite a few cars have them just screwed to the underside of the light, the ballasts they're used are wateright- mainly Hella ballasts. Some people encapsulate them in a potting compound. Plenty of stuff on this site for waterproofing ideas and other HID stuff. Click me.
michael
I have a similar issue with mine, they aren't properly fitted at the moment because I haven't settled on a suitable location - is it possible to extend the wiring or isn't this the done thing with these? supragold
What about just to the left on the underside of the air intake that runs under the light?

Nic
Why not just buy a sealed battery that won't leak
francis
Don't worry I will be in the future! So does anyone have any better ideas on the placement of these badboys? Could it even be feasible to place them in the interior and run long wires to the igniters?
