MichaelG
Evenin all. :top: Bit of a strange one, the buyer of my old car sent me some JPEG File pics of the car in a winzip zipfile the other day. Problem is when i go to open them. I extracted them from the zipfile into a folder, and used windows explorer to get to the folder, now when i click on the pic ONCE it shows me a thumbnail of it as usual, and i can see the whole (small) version of the selected pic. BUT when i double click the file to open it up full size, it opens, and halfway down the picture on the screen is grey and theres only the top half of the pic visible. Anyone got any idea why i can see the whole thumbnail of the pic clear as day, but only the tophalf of the pic when i open it up and the rest is greyed out ? Well annoyed as i wanna see what nick my old Supra is in !! Michael
Pete
Sounds like a corrupt file.
chilli
Probably is corrupt, but what is it opening in? just wondering if it is something like an interlaced jpeg file opened in a program that doesn't understand them. Saying that, I've had jpegs before like this and they have been corrupted... However, if they were zipped and the zip file used to email them, then the zip provides protection against corruption, it would tell you if the zip was damaged when you opened/extracted from it. So either they were corrupted before being zipped up by the sender (seems unlikely?), corrupted from when you unpacked them (unlikely also?) or it's the viewer, so perhaps try a different jpeg viewer. You can drag the files onto MS Internet explorer, see if that shows them ok - just a thought....
tbourner
Yeah same here first guess would be corrupt file, but try right click and open with paint or something.
