Jspec Germany
How difficult is it to fit an oil cooler to a Jspec?
psymon
Not hard to fit. hardest part is deciding where to fit it. I did mine in a couple of hours, once I decided where it was going. Most kits come with universal mounting plates. Mine fitted where my old smic was....
Jspec Germany
I'm not sure about the condition of my stock SMIC, but performance wise I hear it gets great press, so I'll stay with it for now. I just need to take off the front end and give it a good inspection. I was thinking of mounting the oil cooler on the other side opposite the SMIC, where there's nothing in the Jspec. My question is more how do you hook it up to the oil system than where to mount. Would this be the right time for a filter relocation kit?
psymon
The cooler kits come with hose and fittings. Instead of the two pipes going into the rad, hook them up to the oil cooler. Or you could put the cooler in series with the rad cooler.
Jspec Germany
I've looked, but can't find any pics of where the two pipes feed to. I have the component locations pic that shows one pipe coming off the stock filter housing. Anybody got a pic of this?

I'm not quite BPU, but will be going to Dragonball and planning some trips to the Ring since I'm only an hour away. Just want to be cautious, ya know? I've heard all kinds of stuff from guys who do a lot of track time... oil coolers, tranny coolers, powersteering coolers...
