AFAIK they are not thatcham approved or anyway as they do not re-arm if you arm and disarm the alarm.

If it's the dealer fit Toyota 5000 (Scorpion) it's Thatcham approval number is TC1-75/0694.

The original alarm documentation that came with my car states:

"The theft deterrent system fitted to this vehicle has designed in accordance with the recommendations of the association of British insurers. It provides a deterrent by combining an engine immobiliser with a security module that controls warning sirens"

Among other things the features list includes:

Passive Arming

2 Stage Immobiliser

Auto Reset

Battery Backup Siren

Door, bonnet and boot protection

Ultrasonics...

NickyBoy....... its the red light inside the car that stays on.

Ive tried all combo's on the fob and held the buttons for about 14 secs untill the fob light dims.

I have searched on this and i read somewhere that some info can be sent via PM as the information doesnt want to b seen on forums for security reasons..... maybe this doesnt apply to this alarm problem?

Cheers for your replies tho lads !!

It also sucks out 1-5 amps even when it's off (!!!)

Anyone knows if it can be bypassed through a fuse or something, it's draining my battery dry within a week or two.

It can be done, but not as easy as pulling a fuse. It'll need physically re-wiring. PM me if you want to know more about it and how to get around it.
