Pete
dell are top machines but when you start adding on the little extras the price goes right up £23.50 for a floppy disk drive and £23.50 for a card reader is ridiculosly expensive. and 50 quid for delivery They are good though. Branners
Good God don't buy an Aeries (Used to be Watford Electronics). Terrible aftersales and cheap components used. I disagree, I have found that Aries computers are actually well put together and use decent cases and components. I always recommend Dell first, and Aries second if they want something cheaper. Yes, you can always buy some component based system from a supplier but you never quite know what you are getting. Remember its Terry thats buying it and by his own admission he's not an IT god so if he hits problems he needs to have a decent bit of support (which sort of puts Dell out of the picture) I bought my dad the near bottom of the range Aries PC, upped the memory a bit and its been great, no problems at all. Terry if you need a hand choosing one give me a shout and we can 'hit the shops' JB

Pete
For the record I'm not trying to flog our product or make any money. The sale of a PC really isn't worth the effort. I'd obviously just ensure it was a good bit of kit that works and could oversee the build as a favour.
Lewis
Question to all you IT bods. I want to buy my 8 year old Daughter a Multimedia PC for her Birthday next Month. It must be PnP, with speakers, reliable and look cool, oh & without costing a lot LOL. Any links to suitable places? terawua
For cool... what about hoojum, or the ASUS barebones.... small cases, and you could spec the system and have it assembled and pop some software on it....
