Scarface GTti
Had a brilliant time this afternoon. I`ve really been fancying a Nissan Navara since getting rid of the Supra, especially now that i`ve promised my missus that i`ve grown up and will get a more family orientated car. I took out a double cab and i have to say that i just couldn`t believe how well it drove. 3 Litre diesel with a 6 speed manual box. 174bhp and 403nm of torque. The one i drove was fully kitted with leather etc. It was very comfy and quiet and just awesome grunt. It even handled well. Took down the back lanes and really threw it into the corners and there was no roll and it just gripped. The steering was a little vague but i have to say that overall it was bloody great. No Supra though:love: .
toyotasuprauk
Bit different I suppose, its amazing how nice some of these new cars drive.
Scarface GTti
If anyone had a spare afternoon with nothing to do you ought take one for a thrash as it is an experience. Certainly a change riding so high above the traffic.
Guest Terry S
Had mine for 3.5 years now. Great tool.
outatime
I ordered an Outlaw in November as my boring car, there's a long waiting list on the new Navara due to a recall for some back axle problems. March is the latest delivery estimate, but it keeps slipping back. I hate waiting for things... i'm trying to decide what back to get for it at the moment. Its a 2.5 diesel btw
Scarface GTti
I liked the solid tonneau cover on hydraulic rams but it comes in at a whacking £850! The salesman actually advised that i should look at an aftermarket item as they would be cheaper!
outatime
Yeah, thats an option. I was looking at the boxes as my girlfriend wants a dog, but I think they look a bit rubbish and I'm not sure i'd get my surfboards in. I'm leaning towards the lockable roller-top, so if I need the open pick-up back I can just roll it back. The c-channel divider is a good idea, it stops shopping and smaller stuff flying around the back. Have you seen the bed tent? Lol. Maybe I should find a Navara forum

Scarface GTti
Apologies, it is a 2.5D. I`ve looked at an Animal this week, the new Hi-Lux, Isuzu and the Navara. The Navara i specced up was an SE model with fog lights, c-channel system, soft tonneau, load liner and tow bar kit it came in at £21,629. He said that if i went ahead with the order we could talk about a discount but he said it wouldn`t be much. If i ordered it today then i would get it at the end of April! Scarface GTti
It is very tempting just to get a Navara to have the tent, it`s ace! The divider is a good idea because when i go shopping in my present pickup, when i get home the shopping is spread to the four winds.
outatime
Have a look on the new car discount sites, they are about 2-3k less than RRP but the wait is still as long. The one i've ordered is the Outlaw, i'm only going to keep it a couple of years because its a co. car and the tax break on pick-ups is going next year. I can't wait to get it though. Supragal
I saw something badged as a Rodeo the other week, it's the only UK truck I've seen that look even half nice... what is that?
Scarface GTti
That`s the Isuzu. They look good but in my opinion the Navara is the best looking.

outatime
The Isuzu is nice but too slow - 20+ secs to 60. There is a power upgrade, but they are still not as powerful as the new Navara.

Supragal
Hmmm, it's ok, they are getting better but none of them are a patch on the yank trucks... they are the bestest Shame they are so juicy.
outatime
Yup, the american trucks are nice. I looked at a Dodge Ram, but the LHD and fact it's horrible to drive put me off. The Navara is called the Frontier in the US and classed as 'midsize' so it's pretty big. They get a Nismo tuned 4.0l V6 over there
Supragal
Are the UK ones RWD as well or 4WD like they look like they should be!!!
outatime
RWD, switchable to 4WD whenever you need it.
Supragal
How much do they retail at?
outatime
Doublecabs start at about 18500 for the boggo one, up to 26000 for the top spec Aventura Auto.
toyotasuprauk
Theres a few amercian trucks around this way. Nicest one I've seen probably was the harley davidson edition of the ford f150 5.7 v8 supercharged in black with chrome wheels and black leather etc, might drive terrible I dont know but it looked amazing.
