ChrisSZ
Been bidding on a set of rather nice 17" rims on ebay (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/17-TOYOTA-SUPRA-ALLOYS_W0QQitemZ8026363170QQcategoryZ9888QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) - some bugger sniped in in the last 30secs:swear: I hope it was no-one on here:unfair:
silvasurfa
I used to hate it when that happened, that's why nowadays i'll always put the very maximum i'd be happy to pay, that way you can't be dissapointed...
Ben-san
Sorry to hear this Chris, I've been a victim of a few snipes too. Unfortunately there's no way to beat this. Snipe or be sniped? Hope you have better luck next time dude.
Homer
Why don't you just enter the maximum you're willing to pay the first time you bid, if it goes over you've lost nothing. Edited to add, they are the wrong size and offset for a Supra anyway!

Guest gzaerojon
i've lost loads from being sniped... i've used sniper once or twice, but only on very important stuff. if you cant beat em and all dat!!
Scarface GTti
I`ve never ever been sniped because i decide what i want to pay at the beginning and put that amount in. If it goes more then its not a problem as i wasn`t willing to pay that. Its the only way to go.
toyotasuprauk
People always bid in the last few seconds of an ebay auction theres not really much that can be done about it. If your maxium bid was say £300 then someone would keep bidding until they were the winning bidder if they really wanted it.
silvasurfa
That's the whole point though isn't it, the person who wants it the most gets it? It's just a real pain in the aris when you lose something by 2p and think to yourself, yeah, I would have paid that extra 2p!!! You just need to be sensible and come up with the very maximum that you're willing to pay...
Chase
F*ck - just happened to me right now - 2 secs to go on a Clifford Fob!!! Least I made the winner pay 7 quid more than he was going to.
ChrisSZ
I know, but I can't really hijack my own thread LOL:respekt: Silva Surfer, just noticed you're down in Folkestone dude - my old stomping ground - my Mum and Bro still live down there. Back on topic, yeah, I know that's how ebay works but it's kinda piss-off when you get beat in the last 30secs by 2p! Ah well, karma and all that:rolleyes: What size/offset shpould I be looking for then?? I don't see the point in going 9 or 10" as I'm in an N/A

how_supra
I`ve never ever been sniped because i decide what i want to pay at the beginning and put that amount in. If it goes more then its not a problem as i wasn`t willing to pay that. Its the only way to go. I'm exactly the same. Plus I never used to be able to snipe as I was still on broadband and on a windows 98 pc, so it took 5 weeks to load a page up.
