Ian W
Sounds like wheel alignment or tyre pressures to me. Have these checked ASAP. both done, Paul. full geo done by Chris Wilson, has done it with two seperate sets of wheels and tyres set at correct pressures as well. have new suspension waiting to go on but have a niggling feeling that won't solve it. TRD3000GT
Im betting shock absorber.................... Another members car was all over the place a while ago and the shock s were only 3 year sold turned out both reas were completely shot and the car would not handle at all! Another members car was all over the place a while ago and the shock s were only 3 year sold turned out both reas were completely shot and the car would not handle at all! Chris Wilson drove the car and said the shocks were fine, no leakage and when going over a bit of a hump-backed bridge absorbed fine at the other side without any sideways movement (only does it intermittently and usually in a straight line or long sweeping bend) i'm changing them anyway so fingers crossed it's something to do with them!! will certainly post up here if that cures it. Animal
Mine used to hop sideways if I hit a pothole/bump in the road and that was a rear shock absolutely goosed - no oil & bent rod. Been fine ever since. The banging/wheel hop setting off could be either CV joint or diff. In my case it was the diff.
Jspec Germany
Looks like I finally found an excuse to buy new shocks. Do most people go with the stock Bilsteins? I am on lower springs and the car will see several laps around the Nurburgring and Highspeed jaunts down the autobahn.

Jspec Germany
I'm eyeing Tein coilovers atm. Trying to decide if I can afford them. Just know that I have to get this side to side motion sorted. It's scary in the wet over uneven road surfaces (which is when I really notice it). I'm also contemplating replacing all the bushings with polly, but here that one of the arms has to be replaced completely.
michael
Supra-Man swapped his suspension, the problem remained, he took it off when he sold and went back to standard, apparently the issue is still there... I'm still waiting to see what the diff mount attempt leads too, don't splash out just yet....
Jspec Germany
Oh, I'm standing by. Eager as ever to get this sorted.
Mike B
Ibought a full set of billsteins on my old car with new tein springs, and have to say was not too impressed. plus the adjustability of coilovers is a must have for track days. current coilovers I have now are the best I've ever had on a sup. Jspec Germany
Which coilovers are those Mike?
Chiefgroover
Prob lack of a torque wrench when the 4w alignment was done. If you have 18" the settings are different, see Jot.ie's post. Toyota state you ought to tighten bolts on chassis and body every 9K miles on their service book. Hope your not usiong more than 36psi tyres pressures.
