GeordieSteve
I'd look into the downfalls with it before you take it out tho. Not sure of them myself. I'm a legally registered trader
absz
i thought that trade insurance only covers you third party ? so if the car gets stolen your on your own.
GeordieSteve
No you can get it to cover your own vehicles as well as customer cars
Alex
Try Livingstones Warman in Yeovil - they were good to me Though their customer services sucks, their rates are good. (£756 Single 1998 26y/o) You need to go for a cherished car policy, it helps if you keep your mileage down to 5000miles and it's your second form of transport. BURT
just done my renewal with sky 27yrs old with 3 yrs and six points, t61 single and all supporting mods, and bodywork mods guaranteed value all £1500. pretty good i thought
toyotasuprauk
It shows everyones idea of a good insurance quote is so different. I think £1500 is an insane amount of money for insurance but with the points and a single its never going to be cheap.
veilsideTT
Ive been thinking about this trader insurance lark. Would i qualify and how much you guys think it would cost me? I run an Industrial Cleaning company and we are just getting into car valeting at the dealerships we have cleaning contracts for. I need a policy that covers driving around say 15 customers cars a day (not on the road), and that covers the supra for around 6k per year (single), my works van and the Fiancees (Business Partners) Audi TT. Who could do a trader policy that would cover my supra for all the mods, agreed value, etc etc. If i add up all my insurance it totals £3500!!!!! Anyone think i could save a couple of grand here? SimonB
i found elephant pretty good ... ive just turned 23, only paying £1000 with all mods included! They probably think you have a MkIII, that's the usual thing with Elephant, they end up listing it as a Supra Turbo or FI or something. Fine until you need to claim! GeordieSteve
Sure the FI is the mkiv. Been over it MANY a time with them. Sure they won't like a single turbo and they're crap with customer service

Sure they won't like a single turbo and they're crap with customer service You're telling me! Last time I spoke to them they insisted my car didn't exist and the only model of Supra was a "Supra Turbo". When I told them there was no such thing and they were all RZ, GZ etc they just told me they couldn't insure anything but a Supra Turbo... DShox
okay havent read all this but ive phoned around all the so-called specialist import insurers. i'll tell you straight who talk the right language: 1) RAC Direct - these guys quote me 650 when the rest of the numptys come out with comedy quotes of 4500/5000 or no quote. i have SDP only with big xs. im 26 with no NCB (always a named driver). my dad is main driver with loadsa NCB. first 3 points are ignored cos they recognise we all got points these days and that doesnt make you dangerous. 2) elephant / admiral - competitive but couldnt match RAC and they get prissy about the mods I guess AA would take a similar approach to RAC. GeordieSteve
No go for me trade. Even with my old man on the policy it was mega bucks (over 5k) because I'm under
veilsideTT
How much of a difference do you think it would make if you were 25?

Clarkey
I feel sick with these low quotes I'm reading. Mine is £1100 with Sky - all mods declared. 30yrs of age. 7 years no claims. No points, no convictions. Held my license 10 years!
Supra-Dupra
paid 1000 euro about £700 for fully comp open driving, anyone over 25 with full licence is cover with owners permission. Tax 1300 euro tho, you boys dont know how handy you got it ! As for asking them to cover mods, you might aswell kick yourself out of the office ! And a single ha, they'd prob add penalty points to your licence, for mentioning it LOL.
DShox
well the difference is - "sorry sir we wont insure you on that group vehicle" to "oh we'll insure you but hand over your left arm".
