steve spedd
Looking a maybe getting some new alloys. i have used the excell spreadsheet which is available on here. however im looking at 8 x 18 front with a 25mm offset. the guy at at the alloy wheel place said that this was the best option if i wanted to go for a big brake upgrade at a later date as these would have more clearance... the spreadsheet spits out the error message that the offset is too small... he can also supply the same alloy with a 35mm offset... the tyres will be goodyear eagle f1 size: 235/40/18. anyone out there able to help?? cheers steve... suprasport
35mm offset would fit but don't think they will clear uk spec or upgraded calipers. sure someone will verify soon though
merckx
This was posted a while back, it's supposed to be a cross section of the hub / uk brake caliper. Not sure if the small offset could give you rubbing issues on the wing. I would contact Ibrar Jabbar (Pro Alloys) or Envy on here, I'm sure they could match the price and tell you if they'll fit. steve spedd
thats what i thought! but the guy recomended the 25mm. watch this space. hopefully will come and sort things...
Pete
You want as close to 50mm as possible. Otherwise handling will be adversely affected. They clearly don't know what they're talking about. Avoid.

steve spedd
the wheels that im looking at are: front 8 x 18 with either 25 or 35 mm offset (235/40/18) rear 9.5 x 18 with 40mm offset (265/35/15) bit thick but really dont get this offset lark.. Gordon F
Wheel offset wont really make any difference to whether they fit over the big brakes or not. It's normally the spoke design that will foul the caliper.
steve spedd
so will 35m front and 40mm rear be ok? and will the handling be greatly effected? Thanks...
TLicense
You probably won't notice any difference in handling. (Not saying there won't be a difference, but it will probably be fairly small so you wouldn't notice it) As to whether it will fit. It depends on the design of the spokes. Theirs two ways to tell. First is to print and cut-out the template above (make sure it's to scale!) and then try to fit it in the wheel. Second is to trial fit a wheel. It depends completely on the design of the spokes. If they're too deep, then it won't fit. Simple as that.
