RobSheffield
Ok folks, im turning to you all for inspiration first time in my life i have been totally unsure what to do job wise. i have always found it dead easy to find a new job, but at the moment, i cant think of what to do. I have tried most things, but never really taken to anything as such. I cant make up my mind between office based jobs or slightly more out and about types of jobs i have probably had in my time so far (erm, im only 25!) about 60-70 different jobs, so i have tried my hand at most things. i can say with pride that i have never yet been sacked from a job. id like to travel the country/world a bit, id like to get paid well, and id like to work with friendly people.....is this too much to ask?! id like some suggestions if you would of what i could try next... Thanks in advance folks!

Getrag
A bit head in the clouds maybe....but if you could do any job in the world, what would it be? Go for it! The jokes will ensue but we only achieve as high as we aim. Just look at your car, im sure that wasnt done on a whim.

terribleturner
I'm in the same boat Rob. My contract finishes in march/april and i'd like to do something different to what i have been doing. If i have to then i'll get a similar job to what i do now, but i'd rather not be doing nights. I have entertained the idea of a bar but would probably take up more time than i'd really want. On the other hand would be great for supra meets I've also thought about my own business but isn't it something like 70% of first time business fail in the first year (don't want to put you off though). Just don't fancy ploughing in loads of money i can't really afford for it to go pair shaped and lead me to sell my prize possesions
geoffvalenti
i have probably had in my time so far (erm, im only 25!) about 60-70 different jobs, so i have tried my hand at most things. i can say with pride that i have never yet been sacked from a job. Well, that's an average of just over 6 weeks per job (assuming leaving school at 16, and 4 weeks holiday per year) so you've never really been at a job long enough to be sacked, unless you're an absolute numpty at it. At 25 you're still (just about) young enough to (re)train for anything, so think about what you really want to do, and investigate the possibilities. Bearing in mind you're probably going to have to do it for the next 40 years or so, having a job you can enjoy, but pays fair, is probably better than one that you absolutely hate but pays very well. I've changed career 2 or 3 times as demand for skills has altered, it's never a bad thing, but look for growth industries, where they need employees, and train for that, rather than jumping into a job just because you are able to do it immediately Good luck! Maybe you should get a job as a travelling salesman for the biotech industry (mind you, sales = blergh!). Learn to fly as a hobby perhaps and have a normal job? An airline hostess-geezer - oh that won't work with a 5 o-clock shadow, doh!
