Mark Ayling
I posted before about one of my front shocks leaking and I was looking into replacing it with one of the same - a Whiteline jobbie which I was told is a rebranded Koni... I assume I need to replace both fronts at the same time - what I want to know is am I best to replace all four at the same time? As I'm not the only one who has had problems with the Whiteline stuff, I'm thinking it might be better just to replace them all with a better, known shock. So....can anyone suggest/recommend a good make/model of shock? Also, I'd like it to be adjustable if possible - the ones I have currently have 8 settings but have to be "disconnected" in order to adjust them, is it possible to get shocks which can be adjusted on the car? Also after suppliers and prices, any help appreciated.... Cheers, Mark.
Willson
Well I can heartily (!) recommend the H&R height adjustable coilovers that I got from Ibrar Pro-alloys for £850 approx. These can be adjusted on the car. Firm but not harsh etc.........! Very pleased with them myself.

I paid that for my entire suspension kit from Whiteline, which included shocks, springs, ARB's and bushes!!
Guest Terry S
Mark contact CW as these shocks will have been made for the spring heights if done properly. Replacing with stock based ones will reduce the travel and affect the performance. If you are hell bent on that route the KYB's are really good. Most US Supra outlets sell them. CW has a tie up with Koni I think so he may be able to get yours overhauled or replace with suitable units. Good luck.

Mark Ayling
Yeah yeah, alright.... That does seem frigging expensive for a set of shocks though! Terry, I'll contact CW and see what the score is, but the only trouble is that he's miles away from me - also, I can't really go without the car for any amount of time. If I do go down the route of ordering a new set of shocks, how would I ensure that they're correct with the springs etc?
Guest Terry S
Mark, I think you use Leon. He will have a 2nd hand set he can put on whilst you send yours off to CW. Call him and ask nicely, then change them back when Chris either fixes or replaces yours. The Whiteline springs are OK AFAIK.
400BHP
Or speak to Koni direct, they (IMO) are the best shocks to buy, infinate adjustment on car and they last forever, they have a huge warranty if I remember correctly.
jagman
just some feedback on shocks- i fitted kyb shocks on standard j spec springs they are fabulous for handling perhaps a bit harsh over poor road surfaces , they are top adjustable, ive only used the lowest setting. £100 each a++++ recommended!
