Gamer
Can someone in the know please advise me on the correct tyre sizes to use on the following size wheels. 18 x 9.5 +40mm offset, 18 x 10.5 +45mm offset I am assuming that the correct sizes are: 255/35/18 front 275/35/18 rear I do not want to have a stretched tyre look but on the same token I do not want to have clearance issues mainly with the fronts being 9.5", that is making me a bit nervous. I am currently running a 265/35 tyre on the front but the wheel is 'only' 9" so a bit concerned about the extra .5", hence dropping the tyre down to a 255 section. Will that do the trick ? By the way these are the ones I will be getting. I think these would be better suited as my 'everyday' wheels and my current ones being used for shows/shoots ect. merckx
Aren't 9.5" & 10.5" a little wide for those tyre sizes. Shouldn't you be starting with the tyre sizes you require based on grip/handling and then choosing the correct wheel widths. I thought it would be better to go for 9" & 10" wheels with maybe 245/255 front and 275/285 rear, at least the tyres will protect the wheel a bit more. Ian W
yer, tyres look a little narrow for the wheel widths...possibly 265s and 275s on the rear?
Gamer
Fair enough, 265/35 front- 275/35 rear is what I am currently running on a 9" front and 10" rear wheel. I get slight rubbing on full lock, just a bit of the fender lining really nothing major. So that is why I thought it better to drop down to a 255 section. The wheels are being purchased in a private sale that is why I have no say in getting a 9" front wheel. Yes, I could order a new set from Japan but not for the price I will be getting these and also I will not have the standard 8-10 week wait. Syed Shah
255 front, 285 rear IMHO. A 265 is better suited to a 10" rim than a 9.5" rim.
