Rltc

I have just about saved up enough cash for rltc and I have a few questions

1 - How much should I be paying for it? The Racelogic website says £645 or £725 with launch control. Is this the place to buy??

2 - Is launch control worth it?

3 - How much should I be looking at to get it installed?

Cheers :)

Who would I speak to and how much?!

3. It's easy enough to do it yourself if you are patient

I just about managed to install a new stereo. Anything more seems quite daunting - especially with that thing at the front - what's it called - the engine

Justin at Torque IC (B1SEP on here) - If they fit it for you as well, make sure you wear brown underpants if your gonna let Justin take you out for a test drive afterwards:p Think details of price etc are in the Traders section.

Fitting seems quite daunting but if you are confident doing a stereo with seperate amp and sub etc then it's no harder.

I think there are 22 wires.

12 go in and out of the 6 spliced wires to the injectors.

4 go to the abs sensors.

ground, power, an rpm signal

3 ? for the controller.

Or something like that ! (I have only done mine)

There is fitting instructions with diagrams with the unit (showing where all the wires are). And extra instructions from a certain helpful member of the board :)

I hope I haven't made it sound worse !

Also, I have launch and haven't yet set it up, after 6 months !

Yep, that makes it worse. I don't think I could locate the injectors if my life depended on it. Me and engines don't really mix. I appreciate it all from the drivers seat :innocent:

All the wires (apart from the abs ones) are at the ecu plug in the passenger footwell. The manual shows which ones they are.

The abs sensor wires are at the abs ecu behind the stereo.

I hope that's clearer. Sorry :innocent:

Ah, that sounds a lot more like my kind of thing! Now all I need to do is find where to buy a unit :D

Unless you have split pipes. eh cable tie man!:p

Now replaced with a new one from Toyota (£7!!!!). Had been like that since I got the car too judging by the noise that then disappeared. I used everything as a bodge though - insulating tape, cable ties, duct tape, blew through it all!

The launch control is just a bit of fun really. Something to show off to your mates with. I'd still get it though, it's not that much extra.

As for the install, if you're reasonably good at soldering and you've got a decent soldering iron, you'll find it really easy. I'm not so I didn't do mine but saw how it was done. Make sure you've got a correct wiring diagram. Mine's a VVTi and I had a bit of a nightmare with it cos all the wire colours and pins are different to the non VVTi models. You should be ok though.
