GeordieSteve
Nipped around to a fellow Supra owners house today to check out the faults he's got on his new mkiv. After a quick inspection... it isn't nearly as good condition as the seller said (seller was a jap import garage). I'm gonna advise he takes the car back. Does anyone know how much each of these would cost at Toyota? Blown head gasket Turbos on way out Power steering rack & pump Thanks folks
Soonto_HAS_soop
Lots and Lots!! The steering rack I believe is close to £1k on it's own, not fitted. As for changing the head gasket, christ, that is a job and a half to give to Toyota, I'd be suprised, if you wanted new parts and Toyota to fit, that you would get much change from £3k for that lot, maybe £4k. Conrad
Christ, I bet your mates gutted! I would be, especially this time of year. Was it a well known importer? What do you think his chances are on getting his money back?
GeordieSteve
As I expected. Just want to give him a list to take back to the bloke including the £25 of lube in which he can instruct the bloke where to push it! Coolant was brand new as well... he must have known it was kicking out coolant

No reason why he shouldn't get his money back. If he won't pay up do it legally

merckx
I think he should be named regardless of whether he sorts it or not. If he's knowingly sold such a crap car then he deserves no sympathy at all. Do everyone a favour and name him!

Sounds like a right dog, one or two minor things then yeah but major faults like this means they sold it knowing about them or they know f*ck all about cars? Gaz Walker
How longs he had the car Steve? Did he get finance or pay cash etc? Gaz.
GeordieSteve
Gaz, I've told the lad to speak to you and have you do a service to find out all the problems. Thinking about it now it probs isn't worth it. The faults are so obvious. He paid cash for the car less than a week ago

If he paid card or finance he can return the car no question within 14 days. Is there any chance the garage is reputable enough to refund or source him another? Did he get an aftermarket warranty with it? Gaz.
