Back Seat

Recommended Posts

This weekend I'm hoping to strip down the inside rear of the car and install sound dampening but I have a problem with the removing of the back seat. There is a pully/Pin type thing that is in the top middle of the seat which I guess should allow the seat to be moved/removed once pulled, but mine seems to have become disconnected internally and does nothing except waggle about... Is there a way of removing the back seat if this is broken...? :help:

Sounds like you're describing the catch that allows you to put the back seats down, so you can fit longer objects in the boot (or as I use it, to get stuff out the boot whilst driving :D)

To be honest I don't know if it'll make any difference to removing the seat, I don't think it will :conf:

The base of the back seat - Simply pull upwards with a tug on the front of each seating area. Push through the seat belt buckles.

The back rest - fold down and you will see bolts on each end with the body of the car. Take those (2 or 4??) bolts off and your done. The back rest and seat are very light so will be easy to move them. If you want to sound-dampen the rear quarters, then the back seat has to come off anyway to expose screws holding the the rear quarter panels, just for your info.

cheers,

Ro
