Wez
Hey Guys, Does anyone know what the box is next to the ECU in the passanger footwell? Its to the left of the ECU with a toyota badge on it and about half the size of the ECU and connected via a multiplug similar to the ECU. Steve Cargill
I think that is the auto gearbox ECU. (oops, just noticed you have a manual....... Not that then!!)
Wez
I think it might be the traction control ECU but I am not 100% sure so would like to know before I take it out.

Simon
Does the Trac ECU use the ABS sensors and is there any link between the Trac ECU and the ABS ECU that could cause braking problems if the Trac ECU is removed??? Just asking for those who are taking out the Trak ECU.
Wez
What ABS ECU? Is this a seperate unit or is ABS controlled from the main ECU, the reason I ask is some aftermarket ECU`s maintain ABS operation while some do not. MONKEYmark
how many ecu`s are there main ecu in passenger footwell traction ecu next to main ecu abs ecu behind radio auto gearbox ecu under center console box active spoiler ecu (for posh supra`s) why would you need to take ecu out, cant be weight saving? if you taking the traction ecu out why dont you just pull the trac fuse

Wez
I was pulling it out for space too, both the trac ECU and stock main ECU are replaced by an AEM ECU. :flame Dev

Paul Whiffin
Nice one Wez, glad you had the balls to go ahead and fit one to a standardish auto Supra. May be some others will follow in your footsteps now....

Adam W
What are your plans for the car Wez? Are you planning on changing turbos or using it to get the best from the sequential setup? Who are you getting to set it up? Check out the forums at http://www.aempower.com, loads of advice and ECU maps available FOC, its a very good resource! Wez
I will be going single at some stage but not yet, i have done the install and base setup myself and also done some of the basic mapping myself, only mapped 0 - 4000 at the moment and i have a friend who does alot of mapping looking at it tomorrow. I have basically got it installed and made the car driveable, i have been monitoring the knock etc and have made sure its still a little rich to be safe but so far its all good. :flame Dev
