Installing RLTC

May escape to the car tomorrow and start to install my RLTC. Now i'm happy with where everyting goes apart from this bit (Photo Below). Obviously the coloured wires go to the Speed Sensor wires, but were does the silver one go?? Can't see it listed anywhere. Also it does say that the speed sensor wires to the coloured ones don't really matter, but has anyone found that there is a real order to doing them??

Hi and Merry Christmas. Unless you already know which sensor is attached to which wire in the car, just stick them on any how. The configuration drive will allocate the signals to a wheel channel in the RL unit for you. I have lost my diagrams:( so cant help with the silver one. It looks like a screen so I would guess earth.

The silver is just the sheilding to the cable as a whole, ideally connect it to an earth. As terminator said, the four speed sensor wires can be connected in any order since these will be allocated to whichever wheel when you do the config drive, or you can jack each wheel in turn and rotate it to work out which channel a wheel corresponds to.

I hope your flexible because it is extremely awkward working on those wires, I installed mine a few months ago, brilliant system.

It does seem pretty easy. The link Lui put up is good and makes it sound not too hard.

Am i right in thinking i can remove the harness to the ecu to wire it all up neatly?

Only real thing that i feel may be a small problem is setting it all up properly and of course deciding where to install the digi adjuster :D

The is not a lot of room as the loom is quite short. You can take the passenger seat out to give better access. The hardest part of the job is conecting the ABS sensor wires. Having some good long nose pliers and three hands is very useful.

Setting up is not a problems if all the eletrical connections are done correctly. To configure, you can either do the configuration drive with the 180 degree turn, or jack up the car and spin the wheels and use the adjuster to identify which channel is connected to each wheel. It may help to adjust the minimum wheel speed while you spin the wheels as spiining them up to 14Kph by hand is quite difficult.

Not a big fan of CF tbh. Would look alot better if the entire dash was carbon to though i guess. What's the box on the right?? Can't put mine there coz that's were my mini disc player goes. I was thinking maybe to the right of the dash or perhaps in the ashtray (see below), but think i may possible mount it below my gauge pod. Can you tell i still can't decide :p
