Fairytale Of New York

Heard this on Jonathan Ross show last night- it's definately poo :)

That was categorically the worst rendition of the song that I've ever heard :thumbdown

The male singer was, or looked, drunk. The whistle was excrutiatingly out of tune with the piano, and there was no feeling in the song whatsoever.

The original with Kirsty McColl was in a different league. Not necessarily the best musically executed performance in the world, but oozing with emotion.

Yeah, I think it's fair to say Shane probably hasn't been sober for more than a few minutes in the last 25 years. That wasn't the best rendition, the original with Kirsty (which is the one released) is far better. That x-factor bloke sold 300,000 copies of his single in its first day of release, so we'd better get buying...

Told ya. Wonder if that's a true figure - or just more hype to bring in buyers! It was decided weeks ago that whoever won X-Factor would be xmas #1.

Well it was pretty obvious that whoever wins whatever talent competition of the moment will be number one, something like 5 million people voted so the chances are some of those people are going to go and buy!

They are madly promoting even now tho, in Portsmouth they even have signs up on the lamp posts with his picture on, how often do you see that??!
