mikeyb10supra
I would'nt trust the price they will quote you to do it!!!
Ian W
well, my local toyota dealer told me that the 'air scoop' just in front of the wheel arch wasn't standard on the Supra so my car's going nowhere near them!!
Dragonlady
Well my dealer asked me what a Supra was when I went into get a price for a part I needed. So would I trust them -
JohnA
I wouldn't trust them to do anything right. I'd only go there if I *have* to, something which can only be done with Toyota special tools. "simple" things like oil changes are done by the most junior of staff anyway, so the chances of something going wrong are even higher. carl0s
I wonder how much Lexus dealers charge. They would hopefully be more used to our engine and autoboxes, and they wouldn't be so desperate to go for a joyride afterwards.

Hmmm I would'nt be so sure might be worth looking into some prices though? apparently there is a honda garage near me that are good with supra's, but im to nervous to try!! supRo
They surely couldnt mess up changing your autobox fluid on a TT could they? Or could they?? Mate, when they did my gearbox oil change they didn't use V160 like I told them to (on invoice too) and smashed my sideskirt!
hadyn
Well Nissan nearly killed me in my 200SX by putting my tyres on the wrong way round Thought an auto fluid box change would be rudimentary on all there models. Oh well, warning taken. It's a trip out to CWs then
Pete
Dude - See Mr Wilson. I wouldn't trust Toyota to go for a thrash in it. I've heard stories of a friend that took his turbo MR2 to them and turned up early to find the car not there.. Two mechanics came screaming up the road in it 5 mins later. :thumbdown

paul mac
i used a specialist gearbox company, drove 40 miles there and back and it was money well spent, dealing with the things everyday they really knew there s**t, which really makes a change as far as garages are concerned

Lucifer
Dont bother getting your Auto fluid changed unless they have a megaflush of equiv. otherwise you wont get all the fuid out. A simple drain and replace will not do really.

A simple drain and replace will not do really. Has anybody had a megaflush or equivalent done? I asked about a megaflush-type fluid change for the Soarer and they reckoned they needed to start with enough fluid to fill the autobox twice over, which is expensive if you're using Type IV. It's probably cheaper to disconnect the cooler pipe and let the 'box flush itself. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showpost.php?p=650993&postcount=
JohnA
Reading these posts, it makes me want to grab the Toyota manual and rip it apart. It is *so* full of shoite, isn't it? (think about it)

garethr
Reading these posts, it makes me want to grab the Toyota manual and rip it apart. What does the Toyota manual say? I've read the transmission servicing downloads, but they only talk about draining the sump and cleaning the filter.
Lucifer
I only have a mega flush, a company close to me does it for £110 inc.

garethr
It's called sarcasm. I gathered that . I thought that there might be something in the manual which would add to my limited knowledge of Toyota automatic gearboxes....

Is that with Type IV or Dexron? Last time I checked, the T IV fluid alone cost more than that.
