Supra ST Myster
Hi New to the forum and hope to be a member soon, On my Jap Spec supra TT automatic, i have noticed that when driving along with the O/D in, sometimes the O/D light on the dash flashes, and other times it stays off? What does this mean? It hasnt been de-ristricted nor has it got a converter for MPH, the dial has the 110 one where it is spaced out to show MPH. Does anyone know where i can get the 180mph dial to change it and a convertor? Thanks
Steve Cargill
Hi and welcome. I'm not sure about the flashing light, never had that but the best place to get the converter and derestrictor is TRL / Pete Betts, he's on here quite often. http://www.trlperformance.com/ Mine has had the MPH painted out...... Not 100% right but its OK.

Thanks My "OD is Off" light used to flash sometmes, turned out to be a loose wire going into the ECU, might not be the same for your problem though. Best place to get a Digital Speed Converter is from TRL Performance I was lucky enough to get given a 180 speedo face from one of the guys on this very BBS (thanks again Paul Mac)

Robbie
When people want to go beyond the 155mph speed limit in their UK spec soops they remove the TRAC fuse in the fuse box under the hood. As a result u have no traction control ( not a bad thing anyway IMO) and when u depress the O/D button, (O/D off) the O/D light will flash.... So it might be a dodgy conection with the traction controll fuse or a conection near the traction control body. ..........Or it could just be a dodgy light in the dash:p Try replacing the fuse its a 7.5 amp one . There should be spares in the fuse box anyway:) Hope this is of use
Terminator
How long have you had the car? If it is a recent import the jap owner may have taken mods off and disturbed something. I would check connections from the ecu and connection behind the speedo unit and the behind dash.
Supra ST Myster
I have had it about 2weeks now, the previous owner had it for around 2-3 years, i think i will take the panel off and have a look round at the connections, also the triangle warning light came on a couple of times when i was driving it for the first couple of days, but since i have put the automatic button "in" on the active spoiler it hasnt come on again, take it, it must be related somehow as been reading that it will come on if there is problem with the spoiler, could it be that it isnt comming down sometimes and causeing the warning light to come on? If so what could that relate to?

You need to get the wiring looked at by someone familair with the stock set up, and how some people attempt iffy conversions. Pete Betts is your man, but don't let him trailer your car..... Seriously, he's the expert as he designs his own convertors and fully understands the potential problems.
Matt Harwood
I'm probably wrong, but doesn't the O/D light start to flash if the gearbox oil overheats?
mos
When the O/D light flashes its telling you that thier is a fault code being thrown. Try a read from the diagnostics port and then post the code number. It sounds like its going to be code 42 the vehicle speed sensor
