Who has a Mine's ECU ???

Hey all,

Just wondered who has this ecu fitted and what people's opinions are of them.

Is there a fuel cut or rev limit at all?

Is there any way to tell if larger injectors were fitted along with ecu? If so, any idea on sizes/bhp limits etc?

If the fuel map is calibrated to 1.1bar, what's happens if boost goes above this (perhaps 1.15-1.2bar) -no extra fuel?

-Surely this situation is far worse with stock ecu's as the step up to 1.2 from the "safe" 1.0 bar is greater?

Who's got one and what do you think of it?

Ive got one

worst bit is ive heard they are mapped for 100+ octane fuel , Leon couldnt stop mine detting when setting up the s=afc so ive got to allter the timing , + points dont need FCD or speed delimiter .

Have a look at the colour of your injectors , i think j-specs are a lavender colour and uk's grey but i may be wrong (i can check for you ) , the timing is a piggy back job im afraid , i have an FMIC , uk injectors , walboro pump, adj reg, HKS filter , de-cat, exhaust, SAF-C , SBC-ID and try to stay under 1.4 bar.

yeh been looking for a while, only really found stuff about worries with the rev limiter, nothing i thought was overly interesting or useful. i wanted to find out what the real differences were as far as performance and reliability is concerned..........also working out my route of upgrades

at the moment it looks like:

cw replacement pipe and restrictor ring (within 3 weeks)

better plugs at service (as above)

fuel pump and regulator

btw turbos are jap spec with steel internals

damn, that's a shame. - you got my hopes up! :(

do you think it's worth dropping in a set of uk specs for future safety margin?

will the ecu be ok with this, do you think, after a little time to relearn?

i may find out the cost from toyota of a set just out of interest if i can find the part no.'s

editted: not forgetting the resistor pack aswell !! more money!

You will need an saf-c to control the 550's as they will over fuel and that will need setting up with a wideband O2 sensor :sly:

UK injectors are lavender, j-specs are grey. You sure you've got UK injectors? :sly:
