Proposed Wheels :flame Dev

Front - 8.5Jx19H2 ET45 - CBORE ø66.45H9 - PCD 5x112.17

Rear - 9.5Jx20H2 ET37 - CBORE ø76H7 - PCD 5x112.17

Assuming…

1. I can get an adaptor to change the PCD to the Sup’s 5x114.13

2. I can create a ring to mate the CBORE of the rim to the hub

3. The wheels clear the brakes (UK car with std brakes)

4. I accept the inevitable change in driving characteristics of the car

5. I accept the Speedo will not be calibrated

6. I don’t want to roll the body arches or remove arch liners

7. My suspension is standard at the moment but I would like to add KYB/Eibach set-up sometime in the future but maybe not for a year or two.

Will these bad boys fit?

What are the tyre options? I was thinking of 235/35/19’s up front and 275/30/20 at the rear.

Anybody with experience of these sizes on their cars (at either end)

I guess it's down to personal opinion as to whether a 'bad boy' is a wheel no wider than what you have already but anyway....

I'm not convinced that a rear with only a 37mm offset will not hit the arches with a tyre of 275 width. I could be wrong though. Not quite sure you can change 112.17 to 114.3 either.

Seems like an awful lot of aggro and cost for nothing else other than asthetics. It may well make the car handle worse. In fact I'd put money on it.

For gods sake don't let CW see this thread.....:D

Regards,

Nathan.

Wheels that size will make you car drive like a bag of sh1te . . . but then some people say that about big turbos so I'm not going to tell you what not to do etc :D

if you're convinced that you want truck wheels on your supra and you want to make it look like a HotWheels toy ;) I think it would be a lot safer if you got some wheels that were designed for the job. ie, they bolt straight on to the hub, no spacer or adaptor required. I'm sure you could get something from the states which would do this. With tyres as low profile as you will need, the whole suspension/wheel assembly is going to take a HUGE pounding so any bodges ike that will be very prone to failure I would say.

Guys, thanks for the advice and I understand your concerns.

However I may be in a position to get 1 set of these rims at cost price (cost price at the manufacturer on an alloy is very little) through my work and I’m really just interested in the feasibility of the “project”.

The PCD and CBORE (and possibly the offset) may not be an issue as I may be able to get them partially machined and finish the job locally.

What offsets would I need?

1. If you can, don't.

2. Also not a good idea.

3. Maybe.

4. "change in driving characteristics" might just be the understatement of the year.

5. Could be recalibrated.

6. You'd have to. Well either that or raise the suspension a foot or so.

7. Don't fit those wheels then.

In a word. Don't.

Buy wheels designed for the job, or you may be spending the money ya saved on repairs? As the handeling WILL be affected.

Dont wanna put down anybodies ideas, but please look at the safest options.:flame Dev
