Yeah and they also banned folk charging extra for paying by paypal but they all still do it :sly:

They can make up as many rules as they want but if they don't enforce them then it aint much good, still a step in the right direction though!

I forgot to mention this. The met Police have teamed up with Ebay.co.uk to try and reduce and make life harder for on-line scammers. One of the methods was direct bank/bank transfers and such like. There's some other stuff they've mentioned but i'm too tired to look it up at the moment.

I agree with the western union ban and all. I usually offer bank transfer in my auctions as well as Paypal.

Keep in mind that E-Gay wants you to use Paypal because they are both the same company. The joy for them is they get the sellers listing fees and final valuation fee as well as getting the paypal fees so its a win-win situation for them.

Bank transfer is the cheapest and in my opinion best option although it can take anywhere from 1-5 days to clear.

Reading in today's telegraph though there was a report on electronic bank transfers to be speeded up now from days to hours as it should be really.

i hate the fact that ebay charges u a percentage after you have sold your item, they didn't used to do that! charged me 3.95 the other day on a item i sold for £49!

But i am glad they are banning western union, a friend of mine was silly to buy something that way, unfortunatley for him, it was a new supposed pioneer Avic-1 dvd sat nav unit for about £1000! he sent them £500 and never seen them again! lesson learnt! never use it!!!!
