Steve Cargill
Since I got my car it's had the HKS green mushroom filter on it. This is deemed to be bad because it gets the hot air from under the bonnet and it doesn't seem to filter too well (ref the test someone did a while ago on several filters + general consensus) I'm contemplating either getting hold of a stock system - once I've found out exactly what is missing from mine - or I understand the Apexi one is pretty good at the filtering although it will still have the hot air problem unless shields etc are built. Bottom line is I'll be getting my fueling checked out in a couple of weeks once it's been run in, should I get off my arse and get the filters sorted out first, or will it make no difference to getting the car set up. (I've not got a fuel computer etc, just pump and FSE)
mos
The ecu will make compensation for the air/fuel difference anyway when in closed loop and when in open loop it uses set maps, so no it isnt really a problem. If you are concerned do an ecu re-set to speed the closed loop adjust.
