The only reason I didn't buy them before, and the reason I still can't buy them, is that I don't yet know if 86.5mm will be sufficient. I may need to get 87mm pistons to remove the damaged surface from the bore - dunno yet, getting there now though.

No probs Chief ..Shame you havent got any people who could slip a liner in. 87mm is cool but if it goes again thats max rebore and thin walls. makes my ass clap LOL. But it will be fine ..no one has that much bad luck ....so you having fun doing it ?

For the record I didn't actually say they were Torx...(They do look like them though in the pic don't they?)

I said "I think they're a special socket."...That's my excuse anyway.

Although I probably would've merrily bought a complete Torx set to get home and find they didn't fit. :(

I still need an answer to the above question if anyone can help?

Looking again I think they might undo OK with a regular six sided socket but I'd like somebody in the know to confirm that before I damage something if poss.

Thanks

They are normal multi hex head bolts. use a normal (ie, not a new fangled flank or whatsit drive) socket on them.
