si wants supra
Got in my Supra this morning and when Iam pulling out of the drive the slip cont off light was flashing, so no traction control on these lovely winter days nice one, now Iam hoping that its just a fuse, the gent who owned it before me said you can pull the TC fuse out to disable the speed retarder but the Slip Cont off light flashes on and off, so on that would it be a blown fuse to my TC and if so could someone tell me the correct fuse. cheers SI
Angarak
Hi Si, I had this a couple weeks back, but upon switching off and switching on again, the light stopped flashing. I believe the TC can only be set on/off when the ignition is ON but the engine is not running. Check that your TC switch isnt depressed before you start up. VIL
I have had this problem on mine. Sometimes when you start up and go to pull away the `slip control` light flashes. In its worst case on mine you go to pull away it feels like the gearbox has not engaged and it sometimes shudders to a stall! Which is impressive on an auto!!! I have been told that its some sort of sensor at the gearbox (this might be wrong) and it can be disabled/replaced but its so infrequent (2/3 times per year) I have not bothered. Marco
The slip cont light kept flashing for me as well a few weeks ago. First time I've seen it in 3 years. The normal TC kicks in now and then, although I have RLTC! Something is definitly wrong:(

terribleturner
Yeah i've got this and seems to be happening alot latley. I think in the new year i'll definatly get the sensor replaced. I actually get both the Slip Cont light flash and the OD light nowadays and when it changes gear it's quite a hard change. I just turn the engine off, turn the alarm on and off and start her up and alls good again.
supradibbs
i have loads of spare sub throttle control sensors here i think this is the one that tends to cause trouble

terribleturner
just bin the stock TC system - no more flashing light then But doesn't the rltc depend on these sensors?? I've got the new tc ready to be fitted but thought i should do the fix first.

terribleturner
Ahhhhh, i like the flashing green though when you loose traction. Looks like a christmas light of sorts
milocoon
Mine did this yesterday, I had fitted a new head unit on Saturday so I had disconnected the battery. It was below freezing when I started the car, I stopped for petrol after about half an hour later in a warmer place and it was fine when I fired her up. I wondered whether the light doubled up as an ice warning sensor ?
Ian C
Nope it just takes one switch on switch off cycle to recalibrate itself. -Ian
