Fed Up with supra

...Put it away for winter or get the bucket of soapy water out after you finish ?

I know my answer ... :D

bucket of water?

If only....

I've lost several cars due to salt damage. Even if you wash it, the decay has already started and it never stops. It starts an electrolytic reaction that accelerates the normal corrosion process.

Lots of diluted salt crap hits inside the suspension, through all radiators etc.... a quick pressure washing only deals with the external bodywork damage, not enough I'm afraid...

Im sorry guys but i dont 100% understand the concept of how salt on the roads damages the undersides of the supras. I know that the salt basically makes the car corrode and rust quicker, however...

i thought that the cars can be fully undersealed to stop this affect. Hence it should be fine driving in winter.

Please clear this up for me as when i get a supra i will be wanting to drive it in winter.

Thanks in advance

i use mine all the time, wouldn't be without it. even a small distance, its the 'happy factor' that does it for me, ear to ear grin when driving (if i had the ears would look like Tony Blair, no offense).

i haven't done that much in it so far, only about 1700miles since i got it in late October, but i wouldn't go back to anything else, out of choice.

i think only time i wont use it is when its really bad in the winter here, salted roads, snow, or other nasties. will go back to the old carlton then for the odd day, or the carlton for big loads.. Otherwise its my daily choice to drive in :)

when my carlton had to go in for gearbox change, i even got a full weeks shop from Tesco's in the Supra - 1 full large trolley's worth, had no idea it would take that much inside :D

will change the 'pet' comment as its Christmas

A Supra is for life, not just the summer :)

seriously, i havent enjoyed driving this much for a few years since i got the Supra.

down here they said they dont use salt anymore per se, its some compound mixed together, no idea what the properties are

Ha, Ha....! No salt here in Germany either (too bad for the fields and environment they say). Supposedly, they use Cow Uria. I hope I don't have to explain what that is. Something to do with the high ammonia levels prevent freezing. To me, that's just nasty and I don't want it on my cars.
