Best Tyres?

Depends really. I seem to be a little differnt here, as I tend to go through tyres very quickly as I use my car alot, approx every 2000 miles for the rears

2000 miles! I'd be really pissed if I only got 2k out a set of tyres:thumbdown

Pirelli Pzero Nero M+S. Read reviews here: http://www.tirerack.com I've just fitted my wheels with them. An impressive looking tire to say the least. Can't wait to get them fitted and put some mileage on them. I'll post pics in a little while. A friend has just fitted a set to his 330 and he is extremely happy with them. They're perfect for that sh*tty British weather you lot endure. Not much better here I have to say. I miss Japan.

the holy fuck comment was based on a tyre that wasn't even listed just a brand. goodyear do some tyres that would be absolute shite on a supra, not that i know anything about them

Yeah and I stand by it.

ZZ3's are better than the 1's - it would be impossible to make anything worse! For the price Avon road sport tyres are not up to scratch against their competitors - simple as. Ever seen them come in any decent position in a tyre test? However in comparison F1's/S02/S03 for example consistently get top ratings and the price is not much difference at all.

Now Avon track tyres are a different story completely, but thats for another heated discussion :p

so the f1's side walls buldging and popping don't count for anything then, just had to change two fronts and one rear on girlfriends, mates have done the same and read somewhere that other people have had the same, not important at 70 mph though wet or dry :nyah: :nyah:

Not happened to me but in that case if you have a prob with them look at s02/s03 P-Zero Rosso etc etc etc etc all tyres which get better reviews but cost similar - or do they all have faults too?

The old ZZ1's didn't even make it into this test!

http://www.imoc.co.uk/technical/article/autocar.htm

And a newer test was not very complimentary either:

ZZ3

Autocar - January 2003

Comparative Strengths - Coast-by noise, wet handling

Comparative Weaknesses - Aquaplaning, Rolling Resistance, Dry Handling

LOL at the above though which says wet handling ok but bad for aquaplaning!

So me bringing this up is a bad thing when it could potentially save someone an accident? On a car like the Supra you shouldn't scrimp with it and get one of the best out there, still I guess as they get cheaper and cheaper thats unlikely to happen. Might as well not bother in future

Fronts were replaced in '04 by Tim at 73k and needed changing a year later at 88k. They were Goodyear GSD3's though.

Rears were replaced in Sept by me and were picked up by the MoT as an "advisory" 2 months later... They are Toyo T1-S. :(

I think I'll go for F1's next time round. :)
