Battery terminal quickie

Replacing JDM battery (small posts and terminal ends) with new Mr.T battery (large posts)...Ive got the new battery / terminal ends / top fixing clamp....

The new terminal ends have threaded lead connectors but no nuts - the original positive lead / ancilliary wires will fit staight on to the new terminal end no problem, but the original neg lead wont fit on the new end ...

Before I commit bodge, anyone done this before, how ?

Is the - lead too big or two small.

 

If too small, what I did was solder the end of it to fill it out a bit and give it some rigidity so the screws would have something to latch onto, but if the - end is too big, then worth getting a bigger terminal clamp.

Toyota only sell the negative lead as part of a loom. I made up a new lead when I converted Ivan's. I think halfords sell made up leads. I'm sure an good car audio place will be able to sort something.

Ta guys....Ive done it but wee bit bodged.....positive cable aok but negative needs better fix - Mr.T sold me a clamp that was too big, and uses a threaded cable connector - the original connector is crimped on and there isnt enough cable slack to cut the old one off and put on a Halfords clamp, so its a mix of both at the moment.

I just used a battery copper cable connector to link an extra bit of lead to the existing for the extra length.
