Conrad
My mates got one of these and he's been banging on about how fast it is for a while. He reckons he gave a TT a run for it's money a few weeks back right up to about 90mph. I just laughed and took no notice, until I went in it last night! Jeez, it's quick! He's had it chipped and I'd have to say It would easily match my standard TT in this weather. He claims it's 210bhp with the chip. My mate who was also in the car who has a BPU Scooby reckons it'd stick with his car too. I was well impressed. Anyone else been in one of these? colsoop
I would say any reasonable power turbo car (200 bhp plus) is going to keep up with the supra from a standing start to 80 mph or so. But i remember obliterating one of these at a rolling start from 70 mph. The supra is all about in gear acceleration not standing starts its too fat for that
Bill Prawn
I had one of these and changed it for my Supra. The Leon is quick and I had it chipped but it is nowhere near the Soop. The Cupra R is quicker than the standard Cupra and its figures are here http://www.pictures-of-cars.com/Specifications/Seat-Leon-Cupra-R-225.html
Conrad
I think it's the Cupra R he's got - I'm sure I recall a little red 'R' on the back. Although, I was on at least my 10th ale of the evening when he took me out! Must have felt faster when I was pissed! Still a quick motor tho! lust2luv
I've raced and beaten a Cupra R at Pod, in my NA. You must have been pissed.
SkyJawa
If its a Cupra R then it isn't chipped as they were 210 or 225bhp stock. My mate had a Cupra R chipped by Oettinger, it could keep up with my GTR anywhere it mattered

I had a civic type -r do this to me once.....could'nt shake him..... although it was from about 20mph-80mph
pab_s
I always though that about supra just didn't get going till about 80 then all of a sudden I found the power breath taking. I had an auto, does the closer gearing of the manual help with situations were you need to drop the type-r's on british roads.

Only after 100 would I think there'd be any major difference. And also launching, the Cupra struggles to get off the line with that power so really needs to be already moving!
