terry you using a stock rail?

there seems to be some injectors that fit into stock rial

justin told me of 680cc injectors that fit the stock rail and eyefi was on about some 850`s that fit stock rail

think iam going to get some cossie grey injectors :)

Yeah modified stock rail with extra inlet. I have Blitz 850cc side feeds which fit the stock rail. After market fuel rails scare me a bit TBH. Although I have this week seen one that has caught my eye.............

On pump fuel, where is the point where the ignition retard at high boost becomes so great that you don't actually make any more power as the boost goes up?

Come come Adam, you should know as well as any other that that question is very much relative to inlet temps...

As a guide though, if your EGT's start going crazy whilst you're not making much more power from increasing boost then you're just about at the limit. Adding retard adds EGT....it's a vicious circle..

Ah. Yes. Well done :)

I'm glad you understand. A lot of people don't. Have you ever considered a job in the tuning industry...? In fact, I'm worried that you may already be over-qualified...

but then you could fit a thicker head gasket and run higher boost on optimax?

Thicker head gaskets reduce the squish volume, the last thing you want on a high boost engine running pump fuel. Deeper dish pistons or head combustion chamber volume increases are what you need, along with a totally remapped ignition and fuel map.

LOL, only a small section of the tuning indistry likes and speaks the truth, much like governments. Spin is King!

LOL. You know that Chris.

That said, I honestly don't think there are as many tuning companies out there that deliberately try to dupe people as people think.

I simply believe it's more a case of they just don't know what they are doing. Theres also a lot of places out there that claim to be bigger/better than they really are. Some of the claims I have seen are outrageous but then the punters WANT to believe what they are told..
