absz Posted December 8, 2005 Share Posted December 8, 2005 had lots of issues with trying to start my engine as its sat in the garage since OCT 2000:faint: finally got the engine started but its running as lumpy as fcuk. it feels as its only firing on 4/5 cylinders, anyway my spark plugs all seem very wet as though its over fuelling so taken the injectors out for some diagnostic work:eyebrows: . can anyone tell me if the spray pattern looks right ? my understanding of injectors was that it you spary a mist . JohnA Posted December 9, 2005 Share Posted December 9, 2005 Have a look at the picture here, down the page a bit. It's injectors 1 and 5 that have OK spray patterns. (remember that the conditions you're 'testing' them are far from those in their native environment, with air rushing through) Since your fuel rail is off, I'd get them properly cleaned on a rig. Ian C Posted December 9, 2005 Share Posted December 9, 2005 They are seriously gummed up, I had some 440's like that installed once as a test, and it ran like a bag o shite - lumpy idle and missed heavily if you opened the throttle.
