dannyspeed Posted December 7, 2005 Share Posted December 7, 2005 I need a garage that knows about supra's that can do a good auto box fluid flush out and refill. ive been having trouble with my auto box on my jap tt for a few weeks. The car feels really sluggish up until 15-20mph and then its fine. the only way i can decribe it is like, when your driving a car with a manual gearbox and you lift off the clutch till it bites and you start accelarating but with your foot still on the clutch And because of this only half the power is going through the box because you aint lifted your foot fully off the clutch. (or is that just my bad driving:p) ive been told to flush the fluid out and put fresh stuff in as this might cure the problem. I dont fancy taking this challage on myself so i need a good garage that can do it. can anyone recommend a decent garage that can do this as ive had some bad experiences with garages working on my supra. i live in harrow n/w london. mikeyb10supra Posted December 7, 2005 Share Posted December 7, 2005 unless your willing to drop the TC and completely refill, I would leave well alone mate if I were you....test the fluid first as it may not even need changing...note the colour, viscosity, is it brown, does it smell?? if its still pink, I would leave it and look else where for the problem. dannyspeed Posted December 7, 2005 Author Share Posted December 7, 2005 The fluid was brown before i topped it up. . ive had the car for nearly 3 years and its never been flushed since ive owned it. so i think it can only do it good that i get it done weather it will solve the prob or not. whifbitz is not far from me its just getting time off work to bring it down there as he is not open saturday but i dont think ive got much choice. And their workshop is right next to Watford station (behind the firkin pub) and the train goes straight to Harrow Wealdstone so you could drop it off during the week and still get home by train.
