ellis Posted December 6, 2005 Share Posted December 6, 2005 I've got a £5 note in my pocket, was wondering what its worth: Completely standard note Approx 135mm x 69mm Slightly 'pocket worn' Off white with multi coloured security printing Silver thread fully intact Nice pic of Liz's head on one side, some mardy looking tart on the other Year of manufacture unknown Standard UK note, not an import Signed by the Chief Cashier Never been thrashed Paper flickers and time wasters need not apply Ideas? It is a UK Spec note - differences from Scot and Irish spec are: more widely recognised; doesn't look like Monopoly money; people don't laugh at it when you use it in a shop. It is BPU (British Pounds Used) so will go much further than, say, €5 which just doesn't have the pulling power. Pics available from the Royal Mint. Will ship abroad - postage cost is £5.
