Pig
when my car was at matts the other day he spotted a prob. When the back of the car is in the air only the left rear wheel turns and the right rear turns on (slowly) then off again. I tried to turn the the wheel but it needed to be really forced for it to turn. Mr T said its ok but Matt H said its not?!?!?!?!?! Cheers
carl0s
I'd probably have much more faith in Matt H Knackered diff? Dodgy brakes? Does it not feel funny when you're driving it? Could it be that you had your handbrake on and it's only working on one side? (sorry! )

Pig
Thought it wrong. Seems to me that matt had seen enough supras to know something was wrong. Was it a simple case of adjustment or a bigger job? F*cking cars. Feels fine on the road BTW
JohnA
Get it fixed, if it's brakes dragging you could potentially end up with boiled brake fluid (i.e. no brakes) Unlikely, but possible.

merckx
You don't need to know anything specific about Supras to fix this. Any decent garage could fix it. It could be adjustment or something seized or broken. You've really got to take the brake disc off to have a look, even if it needed adjusting you've still got to check everything else aswell to make sure it's still okay. Matt Harwood
Personally, I'd say it's the handbrake binding on. You'd never know there was a problem whilst driving the car, but when there's no load on the wheel it's virtually impossible to turn by hand, and takes some considerable revs to make it spin. Whilst the rear wheels were off the ground, and the gearbox was engaged in Drive, the passenger wheel span freely and the speedo read 20mph. By the time the drivers wheel span, the passenger wheel/speedo was reading nearly 40mph. Personally, I'd take it to Mark at Phoenix. It could be a simple adjustment required, or something siezed. Either way, I doubt it would cost too much.
