how_supra
Been having discussions today with several people and it turns out that I am the only person who actually likes London out of all of them I know it has its problems and Ken Livingstone is a plonker and probably should be castrated [imo]. Traffic IS a pain in the arse, buses tend to do what they like and taxis are seemingly on a search and destroy mission to rid the roads of evil non taxi like vehicles. On foot you then take your life in your hands if you try and cross the road - it is a strong possibility that you might meet your death at the hand of a unruly motorcyclist who is probably on drugs And yes parking is a joke and everything is tooo damn expensive. la la la la la la la la la la la la But I still think London is great, maybe I'd feel differently if I actually lived there. But I can't be the only person who actually likes going into London surely?
Robert
i like london and i live right in the middle. I think its good how anything you need is probably only 5 mins away and also i think its the area i live in its very quiet and full of lovely rich people who drive ferrari 430's and there a nice black lambo that keeps drivng around looking for a race. suprasport
only been once, hated every second of going and being there, loved every second of leaving. then again i was in the back of a black van on way to old bailey and then released to go home (appealed a small sentence 20 years ago and won)
Class One
Sabrina You hit the nail on the head by saying maybe you'd feel different if you lived there. I moved up to London in 1985 and lived there until Dec 1999 mainly in west and north London. I loved it there, but and this is a big but, having a child changed everything, and work was beginning to get to me. So I escaped to the Cotswolds, better housing better schools than where I was before and a better environment for my daughter to grow up in. The trade off is travelling 80 miles each way to work, because I still enjoy the challenge of working in London. I'm not trying to start a countryside vs city thing tho, each to their own. And I know that i'm very fortunate in that I've been able to make a choice about where I live not evryone is able to make that choice. Do I miss living in London tho......? Hmmm used to but not anymore.
Nick1980
I LOVE London , and that's despite kinda living there half the time! Sure, sometimes I get annoyed with traffic, crowds, and the fact that sometimes it seems I'm the only person walking around speaking English, but there's something very special about (specifically central) London. Besides, everyone knows it's one of the greatest cities on earth! Rallure, where do you live mate? Chelsea?

Nick1980
close to lancaster gate - marble arch Ooooh, very central, very nice! (Well, a bit nicer than Hammersmith anyway!) Went to a fire in Hyde Park Street a few months ago, and the houses down there were awesome! I think Kiera Knightly lives round there too. Do you know her? Gaz Walker
I've been there several times, and generally hate it. Last time I was there I swore blind I'd not go back. One thing I noticed particularly is how dirty the place is, in general, its bloody filthy. Our hotel was the Grosvenor on Park Lane and even that was horrible outside. I may be comparing chalk and cheese here, but you can eat you dinner off the pavements or roads in Japan. Gaz.

I completely understand that reasoning, but the people I've been talking to today were just I hate London its too busy, and dirty. Each to their own I guess, but at least I'm not alone. Or is it they fine you. Something to do with chewing gum. Can't quite remember now. The roads and pavements were REAAALLLY clean. But it wouldn't be london if it was all neat and tidy would it. how_supra
lol London Cruise, is that just sittin in a traffic jam? Hey more likely to attract attention if there's a line of 6 + supras sat in traffic. Plus its always a challenge to see how many cars in one go, you can get through a set of traffic lights before they go red
Pete
I loved it as a kid to visit. Now I can't stand the place. Smelly, crime ridden, people infested place.
