Many years ago I used to work for Mercedes (no comments please) and took one of these in as a PX.

Smoked around in it for a few weeks but have to say I did`nt like it at all. Reverse dog-leg gear box keeps making you look down to see what gear your in and even if your lucky enough to find the right gear your stuck on the wrong side of car so overtaking is a nightmare!

IMO - If you drive a Sup then you will hate the BM!

Well....

Anyone watch 5th Gear this week? Had a nice comparison on the M3 and Integrale. To all those saying the E30 was rubbish and how the Lancia was sooo much better, well it was only 2/10ths second slower round the track.

Both cars were pretty slow though compared to modern cars.

OMG I can't believe I missed this. Thing is a small number of £ gets you closer to 300bhp in the 'grale plus is responds very well to tweaking in the handling dept, it's a car with far more potential IMHO.

There really was no contest between my old one and the beemer. On a run it (my 16v) was similar to friends modded WRX STI and EVO's but their are were all close TBH. It was quicker than standard 280bhp WRX's, it showed that many a time - so "slow by modern standards" - erm well not really but depends what you mean by "slow"...

Anyone able to mpeg this so I can watch it? Anyone know which of the integrales it was, 8v, 16v, evo1, evo2?

What is a Colt CTZ?

It does depends on the track to some extent, the Integrale is the only proper rally car out of those, on loose ground the beemer would be located in the nearest hedge before the race got going...

will try and find the video, sounds interesting anyway!

Depending on the model it could be ranging from 185 to 225bhp and if it's an HF then it's only 165 bhp, so the model matters! The equivalent to a BPU supra in integrale terms is not a slow car by any standards, modern included.

@Matt T

Dude if you like the Beemer get it fella. It is you who has to drive it. I would not give up on the Supra yet though...

I have been wanting a supra since I first saw one but could not afford it and then when I could I had a kid so had to wait a bit longer.

All I can say is the wait was well worth it especially at 4krpm's when those twins open up!!!

Oh and its an absolute beast!!!!

Check this thread out Link

You will not be getting anything like this in that old beemer!!!!

@MATT

If you search for an M3 Evolution, maybe I can help. I was few years ago a big BMW but only one BMW i have kept.

My BMW E36 328 convert to 4.0 V8 from the 540 !!

Many of my old friends are in the BMW Tuning Business and if you search for a LHD car, I can ask some people.

LHD in a Country that drives RHD is No Problem. I drive a RHD RX-7 and next weeks a RHD Supra in a LHD Country.

Only problems are MC Drive and Parkingareas.

Cheers.

Peter

EDIT: Anybody knows the power of the Supra vs Turbo M3

what a ridicolous quote ^

out of the box a standard supra would kill a beemer like that on the straights and as for the track there is no real contest!

its not like the beemer is turbod out of the box.
