Paul R
Hi, What tyre pressures should I be running on my tyres: front 255/40 on 18" rims back 275/35 on 18" rims Cheers.
Bobbeh
The Supra likes 36 psi
Terminator
I think 35 front 34 rear? I have run those pressures and got pretty even wear across the wheels front and rear.
Ian C
So how come me running 32psi on the rears still leaves me with the centre wearing out noticeably faster than the edges? -Ian

AJI
The 36psi stated on the door panels relates to standard alloys with standard wheel widths etc. When you upgrade tyres and alloys etc. the shape of the tyre on contact with the ground changes. What I've recently started to do is to drive over some loose sandy dirt so that you can see where the tyre is making contact with the ground (coz it will stick to your tyre). You can then make a judgement as to whether you need to reduce or increase pressure to use full tread. I'm running 38psi front and 36psi rear on 245/40/18 (front) & 285/35/18 (rear). Hope this helps. Ian C
Jaysus, that's a lot of pressure! CW recommended me to try 28psi in the rears, which I'll do once the new tyres go on... -Ian
Syed Shah
32 psi front 30 psi rear for both my cars, works well. I've tried most other tire pressure variations.

Syed what is your tread wear like. + wheel / tyresizes I have been lowering mine recently now on 18' 34 front 33 rear
AJI
Different tyre compunds will sit differntly on various types of alloys, its best to play around with pressures until you get it right. I'm on Dunlop SP9000's and they seem to be quite flexible on the tyre wall which is why I've got 38psi in the front.

SP9000's quote a max inflate of 40psi...personally I think you're pushing things running 38psi...
Syed Shah
Originally posted by Terminator Syed what is your tread wear like. + wheel / tyresizes I have been lowering mine recently now on 18' 34 front 33 rear I tend to get 8-10k out of the NA, and around 5-6k on the TT (very spirited occasional driving). Both running S0-3s front and S0-2s rear. The rears wear quicker and all tires wear on the insides first. Wheels: NA is on stock 17" x 8" front 17" x 9.5" rear. With 235/45 and 275/40 tires TT has 18" x 8.5" front and 18" x 10" rear with 245/45 and 265/35 rear (going to change tis next time).
Ian C
Rears are Pirelli P0's, 265*35*18 Very stiff sidewall, 32psi caused the inner to wear noticeably faster so I'm going to try 28psi this time. Fronts are Pirelli P0's, 235*40*18 Again, a stiff sidewall but at 32psi the inner edge wore horrendously, down to the canvas while the outer edge was still over 5mm deep. This set I'm running at 34psi and the wear is much more even (caveat - I also got my suspension alignment done, cured a lot of unnecessary toe-in which would have excaberated the wear) -Ian
