Which Intercooler?

Think you'll find the stock SMIC's will be quite abit cheaper from Steve Manley from Oxford Toyota.

£875+VAT is list price

I can normally get 15% discount off the list price but, that still works out more than CW's price.

Are you saying that Steve would give you more than 15% off list price ?

I did ask for a quote from Steve .. this would be about 4 months back. But I think it was in the region of £670 + vat (i think - don't quote me) ... the ex-vat figure was definately in the £600's.

4 months ago .. Steve promised the IC would be available for collection in 1 week from ordering - as the item was in Belgium.

GReddy do an uprated SMIC, need to double check the price but don't think they are silly money either. ARC also do a SMIC so I'll also check price of those but think they're quite a bit more.

£500-600 sounds good to me :) I've heard the Greddy SMIC isnt as effective as the stock cooler tho? Is this true/lies?

I researched the subject before summer, when I was evaluating alternatives for my SMIC that had fallen apart from the salts here.

I've got more info on the Supra part of the 'intercooling' pages of my site.

Have you tested all the SMIC's then John?

£780 all in then  I can definitely get a GReddy SMIC delivered for a lot less than this.

Just my take on it.

TMC are far from stupid. I would be surprised if many people actually make a better smic. Would really love someone to do some unbias comparisons. The only critisism of the stock one AFAIK is the plastic tanks blowing apart during NOS blow backs, but I wouldnt have thought it was an issue for 99% of members.

Just thought, the GReddy SMIC also includes 4 x hard pipes and connectors.

Does anyone know the core size and spec of the stock SMIC?

The GReddy SMIC spec is 16 rows x 2, core size: H266, L260, W85, a bit more info HERE

If anyone orders a Greddy let me know Nic, I will happily test it against stock and CW's if he will let us borrow one for the test. Good point with the hard pipes though.

Terry/John/Chris is there any implications replacing my side mount when it gives up....with a front mount?? bearing in mind I will be on stock turbos still....my thinking is If I do decide to go single in the future this will already be in place, what are the benifits/drawbacks using this with stock turbos??
