Class One
I used to be a bit humbug about Christmas, but my daughter is 6 now and its really brought the magic back for us. However, I was driving to work on Nov 16th and i saw a house in a nearby town that was already decked out and lit up for xmas. Bit early don't you think? RedM
I sing Xmas songs all year round. It annoys the shit out of my colleagues which is the the whole point. Oh, and I once had this conversation (approx) with one of my managers after I mentioned how much I love xmas. Boss "I didn't think you'd be the type to enjoy xmas. Is it because you get to visit your family" Me "No. I enjoy it because it's a celebration of the birth of our lord, Jesus Christ" Boss (confused) "Really?" Me "No, of course not. I love xmas because I don't have to come to this dump for nearly two weeks".

KaoriFan
not sure who has the earliest Christmas shopping night, but we had ours last Friday. it used to be around 16th December, and was a great time as you knew everyone. Ewen
Used to love making Christmas a special time for the kids, but they are adults now....last year was a bit of a non event in that respect, and this year they are spending Christmas Day with their respective spouses...as to all the fun of prezzies under the Christmas tree and a blizzard of wrapping paper as they exitedly ripped them open, this year its "can we just have the cash please "

Ewen
Xmas a time of goodwill ? Bollox....the amount of arguments we have about who to buy for, how much to spend, "your sister didnt buy our kids owt last year so Im not getting them owt this year" and so on ... Hows this one remotely in the spirtit of Xmas...weve friends with two kids, and we live 45 miles apart...every year they ring us to tell us how much they want to spend on our kids, and we buy our kids a prezzie to that value, then we wrap it and put a label on from them, and they do the same for their kids...when I said to wifey that this was daft, we may as well send them £20 and they send us £20, she said 'thats stupid, wheres the fun in that ?'
