Seb
What would be required to fit misting washer jets?

michael
Not yet, I haven't found a suitable donor as yet All the scrap yards around here are full of stuff with dull washers jets....
Ian R
Go single turbo and you'll have a driver's side heated jet Bit expensive for just that though... -Ian
D8MOA
the last of the old shape is200-300 have a spray effect rather then a jet! i was also guna look into this when i get my supra! thing with lexus 1's you buy them in black! there small looking like the supra 1's and are more than likely going to fit stright in rather then other make car ones
Gaz6002
my golf R32 has a really good washer-jet setup as mentioned before, gets the whole screen and is very efficient

DannoSupra
Jaguar S-Type's give a spray, also fitted some ripspeed one's to a mate's car. they give a Fan'like spray...
letmeshowyou
I've had a couple of 407 sportwagon's as hire cars recently and have to say... the washer jets are amazing. They're like a jet but with a wider spray pattern (but not quite at the mist stage) I'd say some of them are the way to go...

Cheers Ideal thread at this time of year and I was thinking of replacing my washers for something a bit more effective!
michael
I wonder if anything can be done with the crappy rear one too....
michael
Right I've upgraded Following d8moa's input I opted for the later spec Lexus IS200 / IS300 jets - as he said they have a real fan effect that does a decent job of getting water onto the full width of the screen. I haven't been out in the car as yet to test them properly but when parked up my only concern is that the jet is flat and doesn't come very high onto the screen. I'm guessing this should work out OK though, the water will move up as you drive so we'll see.... I got black ones, £10.93 each inc VAT and they slot straight in, an almost exact footprint of the standard ones and the same shape fitting. They are available in a few colours but obviously intended for Lexi. 2 day lead time from Toyota. I suspect a group buy would bring the price down by at least 10% or maybe Nic / CJ's chap can do a better price - just think of the pioneer explorer here when you are saving money, all donations welcome White (040) Chamonix White ------- 85381-53070-A0 White Pearl (062) St Lucia Pearl ------- 85381-53070-A1 Silver (1C0) Platinum Ice ------- 85381-53070-B0 Dk grey (1C6) Granite Sky ------- 85381-53070-B1 Black (202) Astral Black ------- 85381-53070-C0 Red (3P0) Scarlatti Red ------- 85381-53070-D0 Beige met (4R4) Persian Quartz ------- 85381-53070-E0 Dk green (6R4) Glenarvon Pine ------- 85381-53070-G0 Grey/blue (8N6) Antimony -------- 85381-53070-J0 Dk blue (8P4) Montrose Blue ------- 85381-53070-J1 If you want to try a breaker for these latest ones you'll need an August '03 onwards car, before then they had twin ones like ours and then later a triple version, the numbers above are all for the 'fan' ones. Absolute doddle to fit, I just chopped my old club Toyota card in half and pushed it into the rubber at the front and back of the washer while lifting. This pushes in the plastic lugs and you can lift it out with the pipe attached. Pull a little to get more pipe (not too much!) and then pull the old nozzle off while keeping a tight hold on the pipe so it doesn't fall back into the hole. Push the new one onto the pipe and push it back into the hole with a satisfying click. Stand back, smoke your pipe and stroke a lion. More feedback when I drive somewhere, might not be for a few days though.

Jspec Germany
Michael, did you take any pics?
michael
Not yet sir, I fitted them in the dark, it's freezing cold and the car is filthy. Once I get a chance to clean it I'll get some pics I drove it a mile or so at fairly low speed this morning and as I thought the airflow seems to push the fan down a little more that I'd like, however the screen still seems to get decent soak. The big test will be a filthy screen on the motorway I guess....
dangerous brain
OK one question ---- how do you stop the bloody stuff from freezing? I had 75-25 screen wash to water which on normal days is just on the edge of evaporating too fast and that bloody froze up yesterday on the way in to work
michael
I guess you could move the washer bottle into the passenger footwell
toyo rob
just got the black lexus ones from Hills of Woodford, Toyota Dealers, for £19. Turning up Wed, Good Find Michael, will give a heads up when done on Wed Rob
michael
I tried them at 80 leptons yesterday, the fan spray does get blown a little low but it still seems to clear the screen really well - will do some more high speed tests when the weather gets crappy again. Ben-san
Arghjae will be along soon going: "How the heck did you get them out?" Seriously though, we were trying to have them out last night but couldn't figure out how they're attached under the bonet structural bits (techy I know...) Cheers for the updates Mike, will look into this but finding them in Anthracite/1A1 will prove a little difficult... B®

michael
any pics yet mike? Sorry no Imagine the standard washers but minus the two jets and a small slot in their place I'll see what I can do over the weekend, it's cold out there though
michael
I managed to leave the house Last pic shows the old one removed to give you an idea of how they fit, as mentioned above just slipping an old plastic card in at each end was enough to push the tabs.
