ChrisSZ
Hi all, Sorry if this is in the wrong place (I'm sure a mod can move it if so??). Well, I've paid my membership and picked up my car - a '96/N plate SZ (JDM auto) in silver! Loving it already (despite a twitchy back end - just come from a 185 GT4) but I have a couple of probably dumb questions about her. a) what does the little red button in front of the shifter do? It has Jap text next to it and doesn't seem to do much?? and b) what is the one next to the shifter (passenger side of the lever)? Says manual on it? Patience and help much appreciated guys. Cheers, CHrisSZ
QSC
Red button allows you to take it out of gear without ignition on (handy if working on console while switched off) while manual means exactly that, holds the gears as you shift them. RedM
The red button is turbo boost. The manual button shows the owners manual on a heads-up display. HTH
RobAce
hi mate well done on buying a soop. A)the red button is for taking the car out of gear without the key in the ignition (more for when you are working on it than driving) B)the other button is like a manual mod if you push it the car will not change gear until you push it again untill you get to 3rd then will auto go into overdrive(as long as itis turned on). Pete
Best thing to do is head over to the FAQ section and have a good read Tip : You may need to change the dates at the bottom so it shows threads From The Beginning.

Guest Flat4_ire
any reason u didnt go for TT?
ChrisSZ
Reasons for not getting a TT = less initial outlay, less chance of spending huge amounts of cash modifying it (just done 5k playing with my GT4!!), less to go wrong(???), cheaper insurance and the ballat wouldn't let me:haha: Having said that, one of my dream cars is a late TT aerotop with a decent set of rims and body kit - in black! Have to wait a few years now though.
