yeah il only be doing 6000 miles a year or so, just a weekend car man

nothing to worry about mate u seen my red one done 4000 miles all spirited driving they are great as a weekend toy but if u wanted to drive all over 25000 miles a year then you would need a standard version of the car and these are good to 65000 before they start playing up if u buy a decent one

Very nice car jurgen, i think anyone on here would be well pleased with that, uve touched on the reliability of the RX7 on here but are they as bad as their reputation suggest (just what ive read), what tends to go wrong on one of these if its gonna go wrong?

Cheers

as far as i know the probs begin with poor servicing they dont jus go bang but a well serviced and tuned rx-7 will last 65000 plus miles of free motoring and the rebuild ones the same or more,

common problems are coolant loss, overheating as new owners top up the ast water tank with water infact this raises the temps and cause engine failure many peeps dont know this, the rx7 has 3 fill water point on engine bay for coolant but only one is used to top up.

another common thing as pip at wgt auto development tell me is peeps think they need a rebuild cos there engine has flooded or the sparks plugs get too wet on tuned cars he told me that other tuners will rebuild their engine without reliasing that its not gone or been naive hence why the theory goes around with the engine problems, unesseray rebuilds.

the only downfall with these are running cost they swallow the juice, especially single turbos.

another common fault with big power cars is box problems if over 450bhp make sure there is no grinding on gear changes. i had 5th go in one of mine doing over 180mph.

only other prob i have ever had with my last 3 rx7 in 1.5 ownership combining all 3 cars is a fuel pump fuse blew due to raising boost to 1.2 bar or it was just on way out.

they are a very popular in japan and they can take a caning was talking to a guy a sold my old white one a year ago he has never had any no probs with it uses it every day and that is 450bhp, gets it service at a cost of around £150 every 3000 miles
