Paul
As posted on a previous thread I have recently put in two new UK lights and found the new O/S one to have condensation within a day!. Well, I sorted this with the local Toyota dealer and replaced the unit today:) Thing is, when testing my handywork on the O/S, I adjusted the 'level' switch and all was well the light adjusted fine, it was then I noticed the N/S one was making an odd noise so I felt the back by the motor and it was still going (lots longer than req to adjust light), well for a while and now it's packed up I took the light out and put back the gammy old one just to test and all is OK. So, after less than a week two new headlights, one failed with condensation, the other the motor. What makes it really annoying is the local Toyota dealer said it could have been the way it was fitted? They wanted sixty odd quid an hour to check it out and even if the light was at fault I couldn't claim back the labour charge, they also said that the only way they would change it without them 'checking' it was for me to cough up for a new one and they would send back the faulty one and would only credit at a later date? P*ssed off with this, I phoned Toyota customer relations dept. and the woman said that is rubbish, shouldn't have to pay bugger all, 'If the unit clearly has failed and doesn't work then it's a straight swap', tell them I said so So, now waiting to hear from w**kers, sorry, dealer in the morning. Anyone else had the level motor go? Paul

Paul
Cheers Al, Bit of an update on this, I went in Friday morn and they said they stood by their decision of charging labour or replacement then I went through how I fitted it, adjusted and later tried my old unit to 'prove' my wiring was OK - combined with dropping in about Toyota customer relations call I made ,and the attitude changed:D Amazing! the guy even took time to come out and for me to prove the unit had failed (didn't want to know b4). He has now ordered a new headlight F.O.C., and spent some time talking about Supras and how much he liked them Coincidence? or was it the call to customer relations? Keith C
You mentioning customer relations probably did it - Toyota dealers are *terrified* of Toyota GB HQ. Toyota GB know they have a good rep in this country for ultra-reliable cars and excellent customer service - and they come down *very* hard on any dealership they think may be putting their 'brand image' in jeopardy.
