Pete
I know it looks pants, but at 35 quid it seems cheap enough. Anyone tried one / heard of "auto gauge" http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/WHITE-AIR-FUEL-RATIO-LED-GAUGE-WITH-F-KIT-NOT-BOOST_W0QQitemZ8015019548QQcategoryZ72215QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem I'd have thought for something electronic the quality would be required in the sensor more than the gauge itself, so you could always upgrade the sensor? Thoughts?
JohnA
this is certainly better than nothing. If you are under boost and it shows 'optimal' or 'lean' then you KNOW you're in trouble. Can't show you if you run rich enough under boost though, so if you accept this limitation you're fine.
carl0s
I've seen these before but suspected they didn't come with a sensor. Might be worth checking.
JohnA
what sensor, they just hook to the stock narrowband signal output, that's what they display.
Pete
I think they attach to the lambda sensor. There's no additional sensor as I thought.
Guest Terry S
I had a similar thing about 6 years ago. Lumention I think. Little better that useless TBH

Chris Wilson
Only a wide band sensor is any use at all, TBH. I'll show you the Motec one in the Skyline, it's pretty good. You can't put a wide band probe on a narrow band readout, they need totally different conrol circuitry. There are some reasonable priced ones that work well, nowagsays, I only bought the 9expensive) Motec unit beause it interfaces with all my other Motec stuff, and is accurate enough for reference lab usage, which sounded cool
JohnA
I've used such AFR gauges in the past and they did their job nicely, as long as they are seen as what they are: oil pressure lights, compared to oil pressure gauges that the widebands resemble. Now that widebands have dropped in price so much, it's a bit silly not to consider one IMO. You can't setup the car with a narrowband, just monitor for trouble. Pete
Ok. So I need a lesson on wideband and narrow band then! Those AEM UEGO jobbies seem to be the best bet then.
Soonto_HAS_soop
Save the £35 and get a wideband, I have one of these in mine, as I cut into the dash panel to fit it and my wideband now supersedes(SP) it. It is useless for anything, as it dives off the lean scale at anything below 11.0. Pointless, although if I was being anal, I could link my narrowband to one of the outputs of the innovate motorsports gauge and it will work as a secondary monitor....
