Chiefgroover
Last night about 9:30 some dumb bitch drove into the side of my Supra @ approx 50mph. I was passing a crossroads, when at the last moment a car coming from the left didnt stop. I caught a momentary glimpse of the car just as it hit me on the passenger side. I was doing about 55 top 60mph. My car spun, both airbags came out I remember trying to get lower in the car after I bounced about a bit then it stopped with a telegraph pole a couple of feet from the drivers door. My passenger door was at the center console. Lucky I didnt have a passenger. Her car was a Fiat Punto, the engine and gearbox landed about 12 feet from her car as if a breaker had done a front end cut. One of her wheels was about 50 feet from the car. It looked like a bomb had gone off in the front of her car. She did the usual sobbing hyper emotional thing, just cause she had a few head cuts from small bits of glass, while my broken ribs went unoticed. What really fucks me off is that I found her flip over style mobile phone on the ground, mid text message !!! any wonder she didnt see the crossroads. Supra's are a very safe car. Make no mistake about it. I dont believe any Italian exotica could have kept me as safe. I am way too sore to go take pictures, cant even get in or out of bed. When i am up to it I shall take a pic of my car and you can judge for yourself. I spent almost 3 years creating a master piece with my Supra, all to be wiped out by a careless bitch. I am fucking cross and sore. I drove the Supra as my car of choice, becasue i believed it to be the best car on the road bar none. Italian unreliable shyte never appealed to me. So my ultimate car is dead. R.I.P. This is what it looked like before it got destroyed. I hope to buy the car from the insurance, and break it myself. Watch out for some quality parts. GazzaGSi
Jeez man, hope you get well soon and glad your still here to tell the story. Just recently since the law regarding mobiles while driving etc has been been in place (bluetooth headsets) I see more people using mobiles as normal than what I did before. Hope you have a speedy recovery bud. Gaz

terawua
Thats really bad luck.... just remember one thing... at least you are still here to be annoyed with her (and rightly so - obviously not paying attention). Your wounds will heal.. metal you can replace, people you cant. (Oh and by the way I'm a surgeon so I see and know what happens when people come in to hosital in a bad way - so be very very careful out there with all this frost) Just out of interest if it does go to court - perhaps you might want to subpoena her mobile phone records as this may prove she was driving without due care and attention. TLicense
Jesus christ mate, Glad that you're OK. People who cause accidents in this manner should have their licence revoked indefinitely.
markrzs
Oh shite Really sorry to hear that fella, hope you get well soon. I remember when you put the pictures on here of your supra after a complete makeover ! P.s I have no sympathy for that woman !
JohnA
shit happens. Look at the bright side: at least you're in one piece. This sort of accidents often lead to limbs missing or wheelchairs. I suggest that you instruct the police/solicitors/whatever to get her mobile phone records immediately to see if you can document the fact that she was texting at the moment of the accident. geoffvalenti
Sorry to here this, all I can do is reitterate that you're OK. You can always replace the car, although I'm sure that doesn't really make you feel a lot better Mobile phone records could be useful. Driving and talking on the phone is distracting, even with hands free, texting is just a no go area

Chiefgroover
Supra - wonderful car it is, has nice big box sections chassis legs the whole way down the car on both sides, no joints, just good old fashioned quality manufacturing. The chassis leg on the LHS is where her sump hit, if it had of been a "modern" car design I would be dead as it saved me.
